Ismar Schorsch is the sixth chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary and its Rabbi Herman Abramovitz Professor of Jewish History. In 1995 he published Sacred Cluster: The Core Values of Conservative Judaism, a highly acclaimed monograph outlining the seven fundamental tenets of Conservative Judasim. His most recent book is From Text to Context: The Turn to History in Modern Judaism.
