Braun Professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University, is also the author of American Synagogue History (with Alexandra Shecket Korros), JPS: The Americanization of Jewish Culture, and The Jews of Cincinnati (with Nancy H. Klein), and has translated and edited Moses Weinberger's Jews and Judaism in New York.
