David Engel is Maurice Greenberg Professor of Holocaust Studies, Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies, and Professor of History at New York University. He is the editor of the series "Gal-Ed: Studies in the History of Polish Jewry," published by the Diaspora Research Institute at Tel Aviv University. His books include The Holocaust: The Third Reich and the Jews and In the Shadow of Auschwitz.
