The Nahum Goldmann Fellowship Online Alumni
Magazine has offered four online courses.
The most
recent and fourth online course, was held
in Feb. 2007, entitled: Between Tradition and Modernity;
Can Jews Live in Two Worlds and Still be Distinctive? The
course was offered by Michael Rosenak, Mandel Professor
of Jewish
Education
at the Melton Centre for Jewish
Education of the Hebrew University (Emeritus).
The third
online course, held in Feb.-March
2006, was moderated by Prof. Avigdor Shinan, Midrash professor
at Hebrew University. Prof. Shinan studied and discussed five
selected passages from the Passover Haggadah.with varying translations.
The second
online course. The course, The
Bible As It Was, is being moderated by Prof. James Kugel
of Harvard and Bar Ilan Universities, based on his recently
published and highly acclaimed book of the same name.
The first
online course sponsored in 2004 by the Nahum
Goldmann Alumni Magazine was a big success. Entitled The
Modern Jewish Canon: A Journey Through Language and Literature,
it was moderated by Prof. Ruth Wisse (Professor of Yiddish Literature
and Comparative Literature at Harvard University) via email
listserve.

Jewish Heritage Online Magazine, now in its eighth year of online
publication, is devoted to the study of Jewish texts, culture
and heritage.
This colorful magazine now has over 2500 screens, archived for
easy access. Includes Topic of the Month, Calendar, Arts, Bookshelf,
Music, Torah Portion, and Personalities sections.
